Just a nice little video.

I may complete the last four days of the challenge at a later time, but right now, I feel compelled to share this really beautiful, inspiring video.  :)

Day Twenty-Five

First, I just want to say that I did flying trapeze last night, and it was the most amazing experience ever.  I will be posting a vid as an edit to this entry later on today.  It'll also be on my Facebook.

EDIT:  Here's the video!

What’s your nemesis trick?

Anything with a bracket grip, because that grip hurts my wrist, forearm, and elbow.  It sucks because there's a lot of pretty moves you can do, especially on spinning pole.

Day Twenty-Four

What’s the worst pole-related bruise or burn you’ve ever gotten? What was it from and have you overcome the cause of it?

I've gotten so many bruises from pole, it's crazy.  I had a really nasty one on my right calf from leg hangs for about a week and a half.  I've yet to fix that since I currently have a less-severe bruise in the same spot from the same trick.  Not sure what it is I'm doing wrong...perhaps I just don't do enough outside leg hangs with my right leg.  I usually invert on the right and thus use my left leg to outside hook.  I've accepted my fate to be forever bruised as long as I'm poling.  :P

Day Twenty-Three

If you couldn’t pole dance for the rest of your life, what other exercise would you start doing in its place?

That would suck.  Assuming pole is the only restriction, I would go back to Studio Revolution and work on silks and trapeze and partner acro.  Those things are fun, too...but pole is where my heart truly lies.

I have to think of a name for myself for the October performance.  Not like a stripper name, like Glitter or Sunshine or whatever, but some of the girls come up with awesome names.  I have a few ideas that I really like, but I have over a month to pick.  And it's not a requirement, but it is super cool.

Day Twenty-Two

Define your relationship with pole.

Interesting question.  Hrm.  Well, I love pole, and pole loves me.  I'm really committed to making it work for the rest of my life.  In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm ready to get married to pole.  Yes, I've decided.  I'm going to ask pole to marry me.  Tonight, at my tricks class.  Dim the lights, get some Tite Grip on my hands, climb on it -- set the mood, y'know?  And then, when the timing is just right, I'll pop the question.  I hope pole says yes.

Wow, this was possibly the weirdest thing I've ever written in my entire life.

Day Twenty-One

What advice would you give to someone who wants to try pole dancing?

Go for it!  Just realize it may not be for you.  Like any other sport, you don't know if you'll love it without giving it a shot first.  But also realize that the style of one studio differs greatly from the style of another.  If you're really serious about it, check out all the studios in your area and pick the one you like the best -- the atmosphere, the other girls, the instructors, the poles themselves, etc.

Days Nineteen and Twenty

What’s currently on your wishlist (tricks, shoes, items, etc)?

A whole bunch of tricks!  Leg hang switches, extended butterfly, blind hand grab, aerial mounts, poses that require serious flexibility (add flexibility to the list as well!), and an actual pole to use at home.

Impromptu freestyle time! Post your most recent freestyle or hop on your pole and film one now.

I actually don't go back to the gym until Thursday, so I don't have a way to show a freestyle.  However, I will show my practice video from a week ago.  Keep in mind that many of the ground moves are indeed freestyle, and this is very much a dry run of the routine.  There's still a lot to polish.
